National Express – Window on Life is a concept developed by creative agency One Black Bear. Written in a monologue form, One Black Bear scripted and devised the profiles of the individuals we would feature within the films.
Each film highlights a specific profile of coach traveller as they address camera on their way to various places. As the monologue progresses we learn more about each individual as they open a window into their life. Stylistically, we were looking for honesty, realism, openness of performance. We wanted the delivery to feel natural and true, conversational.
We shot on a moving coach using a combination of slider, fixed position and handheld camera positions. The mixed techniques and positions would be used to capture view from a humanistic perspective, a view from a fellow passenger.
The final delivery would be predominantly social media running across Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. We created subtitles versions to assist in viewing without audio typically seen on mobile platform browsing.
The film was captured on the Arri Amira camera with Zeiss Superspeed prime lenses. Final colour grade completed in DaVinci Resolve.
