Waterless are a UK manufacturer of towel off shampoo foam. To launch their latest product, Zerreau, they added TV to their launch marketing mix.
Koala also devised and produced versions for social media and VOD platforms with a few ‘Easter eggs’ hidden within the ad for viewers to spot and win upcoming prize giveaways. Before you ask – no, we’re not giving away any clues!
The concept direction was clear from the outset. The target demographic is a 16+ female audience who live fast paced lives. Key visual inspiration was taken from social media and scrapbooks/photo albums with photography of festivals, nights out, and travelling. We also knew their was an educational element we had to fulfil, with the product needing explanation without it looking like an instructional video.
The ad was shot on green screen with our female artist interacting with mock-up elements. The flat-lay inspired backdrop was then digitally constructed using a combination of hand drawn elements and hyper-realistic 3D before our actress was composited and colour graded into the scene.
